Curt Echo Under-Dash Brake Controller For 2023 Ford E450 Chassis RV

Published 06/16/2026

Question:

I am looking for the Curt under dash brake controller with Bluetooth connectivity to the app, for a 2023 E450 chassis RV. The next question is does it come with the correct plug, or do you need to purchase an additional adapter? The RV is already equipped with the plug at the back. We have the Echo, which works fine if it will stay attached, but it has come loose regularly, even though we have tried all sorts of methods to secure it. This last trip the plastic housing of the Echo cracked. My decision is to replace it with the “under dash” model, as I love the app and it’s functionality.

Hey Robert, thanks for reaching out. The Curt Echo Under-Dash Bluetooth Brake Controller # C47YV is a great choice if you're looking to move away from the plug-in Echo and keep the same app-based functionality. Since the controller mounts under the dash, you won't have to worry about it loosening up at the 7-way connector or getting damaged like the wireless Echo can.

The # C47YV includes the controller and a universal wiring pigtail, so you won't need to purchase an additional harness. Curt doesn't provide a custom plug-in adapter for the E450 chassis, so the controller will need to be hardwired using the included pigtail. If your RV has a factory brake controller connector under the dash, it won't be a direct plug-and-play installation, but the necessary wiring is all included with the controller. Once installed, you'll retain the same Bluetooth app control and proportional braking performance you're already familiar with from the Echo.

What trailer do you usually tow behind your RV?

My trailer is a tandem axle Alumina Trailer with an air dam. It is 20 feet long.

@RobertB Nice! Does your RV have a factory brake control port? Or is it just loose wires under the dash?

@JesseM I tried to attach a picture, but was unable to. There is a harness plug behind the small storage area above the radio. I have seen it identified as the trailer brake control plug, perhaps even on a thread on your website.

@RobertB Oh sorry there is no way to add pictures to the comments on here (yet), but you are welcome to email that to me. My email is [email protected]. Send those over and I should be able to identify it. It doesn't look like Curt lists an adapter for the E450 but I believe most Fords would use the same plug.
