Can the self-contained hydraulic jack housing be relocated to the face of the trailer instead of on the front of the jack?

Hey Bo, happy to help!

The hydraulic pump and reservoir on the etrailer Self-Contained Hydraulic Jack # e33VV are designed to stay mounted directly to the jack and are not intended to be relocated to a separate location on the trailer. Since the unit is self-contained, the pump, reservoir, and jack all work together as a single assembly.

If you're concerned about clearance, the housing measures approximately 10.4" behind the jack tube, 6" in front of the tube, 13.8" tall, and 9.05" wide, so those dimensions may help determine whether it will fit your application.

While it's not something I can recommend doing since that housing is designed to stay where it's at. Some neighbor comments below, it's technically possible with some extra supplies and a little bit of know-how.

What do you use this trailer for?

Hey Bo, Yes absolutely you can move the hydraulic pump unit. You will need to extend the electrical wiring and get some longer hydraulic hoses made.

You could move the pump but you would have to use longer hoses and som wiring changes.
