The first movement onto a trailer door is often the most awkward. Without a transition panel, your sleds track can hit the bottom of the door at a sharp angle, spin, or kick sideways. This ramp panel bridges that gap and gives you a smooth, predictable transition from the ground onto the door. It reduces friction so your snowmobile glides up the ramp instead of digging in, making loading feel controlled even when the ground is icy or uneven.
The raised traction pattern gives you stable footing as you guide your snowmobile into the trailer, and it also provides a reliable surface for loading ATVs and UTVs. Hello, everybody, Steve here with etrailer.com. Today, we're looking at our Caliber Edge Glide 2.0 Transition Plate for your enclosed trailers. Now, folks, this is gonna be a total of four foot long kit, 12 inches wide, and about 1/4 inch thick. Now, the Edge Glide will give you a smooth transition from the ground, either onto your ramp or onto the trailer itself as far as going up. So let me throw an image up on the screen here to better explain that. So you can see it's covering the ramp gate or door, however you wanna call it.
And that's gonna give you a transition right up and over that little gap there between your door and the backside of the trailer. And obviously, whenever you fold open the gate or the ramp, this would fold up with it. So again, it would be mounted, maybe something like that, and then it can fold all the way up whenever your ramp gate comes up and back down whenever you put the ramp down. So a very nice product here by Caliber. This again gives you that smooth transition.
It does include the friction knob, so you can safely walk on them, so everything here have a nice friction and traction. And it's also going to reduce friction to make loading your snowmobile quick and easy, as far as the snowmobile going up and on. You can also give your ATV or UTV traction if you're loading that in there as well. Now, they hinge on a pin, so you can simply flip it for storage like I was showing you. And then, you can close that trailer door, like I said, without having to take these apart, which is a very nice feature.
Now, they install very easily with the included hardware. You get a star head, a bunch of screws, some shorter star head screws, a block here to help put everything and hold it tight together in the same space, and you get eight little plastic. I don't know what the correct term is for them, but they pop in and fill in some holes and stuff as needed. So again, very nice product we're looking at. Again, if you need to trim it to fit, they have included a cut line to help give you those clean edges.
So everything here has like a little indention. Let me zoom back in real quick. So if you need to trim these, they give you a cut line to give you a perfect size and everything, and then everything would still stay clean. There's a side view. And underneath view.
