Heavy use and rough pavement can wear out weak suspension parts fast. This spring is built from tough steel with six 3/8"" thick leaves that hold their shape and strength. It’s made to handle repeated stress without sagging, so your suspension stays in line and dependable over time.
Getting the right fit matters when you’re replacing worn parts. This slipper spring measures 29-1/2"" from the center of the eye to the end of the spring and is 2"" wide for proper hanger alignment. The front eye comes fitted with a nylon bushing that has a 9/16"" inner diameter, giving smooth movement on the suspension bolt.
Loose or misaligned suspension can make the trailer wander. The hook end on this spring locks into the rear hanger or equalizer, giving a secure pivot point that keeps the axle centered and the ride controlled. Swapping an old spring shouldn’t mean rebuilding the whole suspension. Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer. Let's take a quick look at this six leaf slipper spring with hook end for your 8,000 pound trailer axle. Now this spring is made from a sturdy steel construction and it's designed to flex to absorb road shock and give you a smooth ride. That's gonna help of course reduce wear and tear on your trailer. And it's going to ensure a level ride on bumpy and uneven surfaces. So this is designed to mount to your trailer frame with hangers or a hanger kit, and those items are sold separately.
But if you're in need of those items, you can find 'em right here at etrailer. Now in the eye is a pre-installed nylon bushing and the eye of this spring will attach to the hangar mounted on your trailer frame. Then the slipper end slides into your hangar or equalizer. Again, this spring contains six leaves, as you can see here, and the leaf thickness is three eighths of an inch. This has a spring capacity by itself of 4,000 pounds.
And again, when you have another one of these springs on the other side of your trailer, that's where you're gonna get your 8,000 pound trailer axle capacity. Looking at the length from the center of the eye to the end of the hook here, we're sitting right at about 29 and a half inches. The width of our spring is two inches. The diameter of the eye with the bushing is nine sixteenths of an inch. Without the bushing, it's 11 sixteenths of an inch.
