How To Use Gooseneck Hitch In 2019 Ram 2500 With Prep Package But No Gooseneck Hole  

Curt Puck Adapter Installed the adapter in my 2026 Ram 3500. Fit in the pucks was very secure. Only required a little adjustment for snugness. Installed my Curt Crosswing 5th wheel hitch in the adapter. Fit was snug with a couple of the pins requiring some persuasion. The added height of the adapter required the hitch to be placed in its lowest position. Once my 34’ RV was connected the truck bed was level as was the RV itself. First trip of 450 miles with the new setup was flawless. I am very pleased with the adapter installation and performance.

I’ve put about 6500 miles of towing with the Curt adapter rails pulling my 18,000 lb fifth wheel toy hauler. No issues to complain about. One thing I like about it is if I decide to pull the fifth wheel out of the bed it means you can pull the hitch itself out in 2 pieces then the adapter rails making it a lot lighter work. I would recommend for anyone converting to the puck system that has a hitch built for bed rails for that reason. John R

I had a Ram 2500 with bed rails and I had a curt A16 and a curt 25,000 lb gooseneck plate that also fit onto the bed rails. When I purchased a Ram 2500 with puck system I purchased an adapter from etrailer. I had to assemble it and recommend putting the pucks into place then align and tighten the bolts. I did mine on my work bench and it did not line up properly. Attempt 2 same result. 3rd attempt I left bolts in place but only had a couple turns on nuts. Once all pucks were locked in I was able to tighten bolts and it would then slide in and out of pucks smoothly. I kept my Curt A16 fifth wheel hitch and my Curt gooseneck plate. Depending on what I am pulling determines which hitch in locked onto the adapter plate. It takes me about 8-10 minutes to switch from one hitch to the other. I highly recommended this system to a friend that has both types of trailers. NO HOLES to drill!!!!!!! Only requires a torque wrench and socket. To switch pull 4 pins on the respected hitch swap them and put 4 pins back into hitch. Everything was simple and works great for me. Saves lots of money!!!!!! I bought adapter instead of a new $1900 fifth wheel hitch and new $800 gooseneck hitch.

Curt Puck System adapter worked great on my 2022 Ram 2500. I did not want to switch my 5th wheel to goose since I already had the hitch. So I purchased the Curt system and it is awesome. It is a bit heavy but it locks in and is very solid.
