Question:
I have 5.30-12 tires on my utility trailer and I need to replace them. I would love to upgrade to radials with higher load and speed range. My tire well constrains the size of the tire. How does the size of the 145R12 tire compare to a 5.30-12 tire?

Hey Mike!
They are very similar, but the 145R12 is going to be a little wider and a little shorter.
The Kenda 5.30-12 Bias Trailer Tire with 12" Galvanized Wheel - 5 on 4-1/2 - Load Range D # AM30861 has a tire that measures 21.9" in diameter when inflated, and has section width of 5.5". The Karrier S-Trail Radial Trailer Tire with 12" Aluminum AM01 Wheel - 5 on 4-1/2 - Load Range D # KE56EV has a ST145R12 tire that measures 21.4" in diameter and 5.8" section width.
Both fit 5 on 4-1/2" lug pattern, but we do have other patterns as well if needed. Both are load range D which is heavier duty than most other options. The # AM30861 is rated for 1,250 lbs at 105 psi, while the # KE56EV is rated for 1,220 lbs at 65 psi.
What kind of trailer is this and what exactly are you looking to do?
