Trailer Hitch For Carrying A Bike Rack On A 2023 Hyundai Kona EV

Question:

Do you have a hitch for a 2023 Hyundai Kona EV to use for bike rack? You’re eco hitch says not for EV model. I want a hitch with minimum impact on ground clearance.

Hi Dave!

For your 2023 Hyundai Kona EV, you will want the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Matte Black Finish - Class III - 2" # e47ZV. This will measure 11-1/2" from the ground to the inside top of the receiver opening (this is how it's measured for towing), so you would be looking at right at 9" of ground clearance once installed. So this will lower your ground clearance a bit, but I think you will be able to clear just about anything with it installed. Just don't go rock crawling.

Since you will be carrying a bike rack on your Kona EV, you will also want to know this sat 3-1/2" back from the bumper (measured to the center of the pin hole). This is important as some bike racks have shorter shanks than others and if you want to be able to fold up a platform rack, as an example, that measurement will play into things.

On that note, do you already have a bike rack? And what kind of bikes will you be carrying?

@DaveH 1up USA bike racks are very popular, but we don't carry them at the moment. They are nice and we see them very often. We do have a bunch of options available as well though, but I would need to know how many bikes you are wanting to carry and what kind of bikes they are. That way I can get you the best recommendation.
