Will Timbren and Air Bag Kit Fit 2022 Chevy Equinox Premier
Updated 05/12/2026 | Published 05/11/2026 >
Question:
Can I run both the tavern and the air assist?? What do you recommend? I have a 2022 equinox premier with a large cargo carrier for my Shriner go kart. I’m trying to prevent sag. The shaft has been adjusted since this photo but it still sags some.

Hey Dejay, while a Timbren kit and an air bag kit can fit together at same time if you find that you need both to prevent sagging it's very likely the case that you are exceeding the capacity of the vehicle and that's the real problem. What it looks like is going on for you is that you have a decent amount of weight so far from the hitch due to your extensions and longer carrier which is putting a lot of stress on the rear suspension. Worth mentioning is that when you use a hitch adapter like what you have you end up cutting the capacity of the hitch by 50 percent.

The goKart itself is only like 50 pounds… the heaviest thing is the cargo carrier itself. I built the carrier out of 1” square steel tubing. Maybe I should have made it out of angle instead to save weight? I picked up the timbren kit. We will see how it works. I will update when I get it installed and take before and after shots for you
