Recommended Suspension Upgrade for a 2018 - 2024 Chevrolet Equinox Pulling a Trailer

Question:

I tow an 800 lb. aluminum tent trailer with an Equinox SUV that can tow 1500 lbs. With gear the trailer is likely at 1000-1100 lbs. The tongue is very short and because it is low to the ground on the coupler it creates sag. By necessity I have heavy camping gear and a large cooler in the back cargo section of the Equinox as well. I take long summer journeys of 2-3,000 miles and the setup creates severe cupping ruining the back tires. Would love to hear suggestions for improvement. The picture is from camping for one night where I do not have to undo the trailer. You can get a good picture of the setup and short length of the trailer tongue.

Thanks for the picture! It looks like space on your trailer's tongue is going to be a little tight for a weight distribution system. Plus it has an aluminum frame. The only way to address the sagging issue is going to be by upgrading your Equinox's rear suspension.

I recommend the Timbren Suspension Enhancement System -item # T23MR. These hollow rubber springs sit above the rear axle to help keep your back end from sagging and your trailer level with your SUV. They help support your factory suspension really well when you have your Equinox loaded up pretty heavily.

I couldn't tell what year your Equinox was from the picture you sent but the Timbren item # T23MR fit the 2018 - 2024 Chevrolet Equinox's.
