Trailer Hitch that Fits 2026 Subaru Forester Premium
Published 05/05/2026 >
Question:
I have a 2026 Subaru Forrester Premium with kick sensor for opening rear hatch. I was considering the e83ZR etrailer hitch. But Ive seen posts that a kick sensor wont work with a hitch installed and b kick sensor will still work with your e83ZR hitch. Will kick sensor still work?

Hey Mark, the etrailer hitch part # e83ZR that you referenced does fit your 2026 Subaru Forester Premium and while it does limit the kick sensor you can still get it to activate it you kick to either side of the hitch opening. Are you planning on doing some towing?

Yes, planning on some light towing. Is the 3500# rating overkill? The car is only rated for 1500#.
