Looking For Replacement Grease Seal For Older Utility Trailer

Question:
I inherited an older utility trailer. It has a single axle with 6 lug hubs. I’m trying to find the correct seals to repack the bearings. The current seal is stamped “Trostel” and “300 156 6F”. The inner bearing it seals is a Bower 2788. The seal is 3” OD, 1.9” ID, and about 0.39” thick. This is an axle with a larger inner bearing and smaller outer bearing. The axle is 0.95” on the outer end and 1.5” on the inside. If it helps, the outer bearing is a smaller bearing stamped Bower USA but the numbers are worn off. It looks like 1779 but that could be wrong. Any help is appreciated! Thank you!

Hello Travis, thanks for reaching out. We do have a grease seal that is very close to the dimensions you listed, although we don't have an exact match. Take a look at the following:
- Grease Seal 29031 # 29031
This is 3" OD, 1.875" ID and 0.5" thick. A lot of older trailers use oddball/obsolete bearing and seal sizes, and it sounds like that might be the case here, but this seal will be the closest we have to what you need. If you're having a hard time finding a seal replacement it's definitely worth a shot.
What kind of trailer is it? Any idea when it was made?
