Hi Joe, I am happy to help you find the pins you are looking for.

it sounds like you’re looking for the pin that secures your Blue Ox Alpha tow bar to the hitch, for that you can use a standard 5/8 inch hitch pin like part # ML1465DAT which will work just fine. If instead you meant the pins that connect the tow bar arms to the base plate on your vehicle, those are a different style and you’d want the Blue Ox retaining pins part # BX84-0140.

There is also a specific hold up bolt on the tow bar that helps keep everything in place when it’s stowed, and that’s part 229-0436, but we no longer carry that one so you would need to get it directly from Blue Ox. I reached out to them and they said you could call and they will help you get that part.

I totally get wanting to make sure you’ve got the right pin in place so everything stays secure both while towing and when it’s stored, because using the wrong one can definitely lead to looseness or wear over time. If you can confirm which exact spot you’re replacing, I’m happy to double check everything so you know it’s going to hold solid and give you peace of mind.

What are you flat towing, and where do you like to take it?
