Question:

I have a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 80th Anniversary Edition. I want to set it up for either flat tow or Dolly tow. What do yall recommend? If I did Dolly tow do I just put the transfer case in neutral like flat tow? Ty

Hey Mike. The easiest way to haul your 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited behind your motorhome is going to be to flat tow it. You won't have to worry about storing a dolly when you're at home or traveling.

You would need to check your owner's manual for the setup procedure if your Grand Cherokee Limited has the ability to be dolly towed.

Here are the parts, I recommend for flat towing your 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 80th Anniversary Edition:

Tow Bar and Safety Chains - etrailer XHD Non-Binding Tow Bar item # e84ZR

Base Plate Kit - Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms item # RM-521440-5

Wiring Harness - Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit item # RM-15267

Supplemental Braking System - SMI Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System item # SM99251 or item # SM99243 if your motorhome has air brakes

High Low Adapter - The tow bar needs to be within 3" of level. If you measure the height of the inside top of the hitch receiver tube on your RV, and the height difference is more than 3 inches above/below the base plate tab height, you'll need a high/low adapter. To be flat towed your Jeep needs to have Quadra-Trac II: Two-Speed Transfer Case: Provides 4-High for daily driving and 4-Low for low-speed power, rock crawling, and towing. It must have neutral in the transfer case. Jeeps with Quadra Trac I cannot be flat towed as far as I know.

I have an 80th anniversary Grand Cherokee also that I set up for flat tow,so far I have 20,000 miles on it flat towing around the country. Very convenient to just in hook and go. Takes only minutes,probably equal to hooking up on a dolly with no worries on what to do with the dolly. Also sometimes my wife may drive the Jeep and I take the MH separate. 43 MH towing Jeep.
