Question:
Do I still need a converter/charger if I go with something like the Victron Quattro VN42VR or VN58ZR? In Keystone Cougar

Expert Reply:
Hey Daniel, good question - you actually don’t.
The Victron 2,400w inverters like # VN42VR 12V and # VN58ZR 24V are inverter/chargers, so they already include a built-in charger and transfer switch.
That means:
When plugged into shore power or generator > they charge your batteries
When unplugged > they power your RV from the batteries
So they replace your inverter, charger, and transfer switch, all in one clean and reliable unit. It's definitely the way to go!
Just make sure the model matches your battery voltage. What kind of battery bank are you running right now?
