Will Curt Hitch C13204 Obstruct The Backup Camera On A 2019 Nissan Rogue?

Question:
I have a 2019 Nissan Rogue with a backup camera. Understanding that cargo can and will likely obstruct the camera’s view, would this hitch work with the camera when there is no cargo attached?

Hello Pat, thanks for reaching out. You are thinking about this the right way. With a trailer hitch like the Curt # C13204 installed on your 2019 Nissan Rogue, any cargo rack or bike rack would obstruct the camera view. Without any accessories in the hitch, the camera view will not be obstructed.
That said, there are a few other important considerations with the Rogue hitch. First, the hitch may interfere with the hands-free liftgate sensor, and that functionality may be ever limited or lost. Also, the hitch may cause issues with the rear automatic braking system and cause the brakes to engage while backing up. This can be disabled in the settings, but its definitely something to look out for.
What will you be using the hitch for? A bike rack, cargo tray or small trailer?

I installed this on my 2014 rogue with the back up camera it doesn’t interfere the slightest. Makes backing up to the trailer nice.

The hitch itself will not obstruct your view and in my opinion is the best hitch on the market. The only thing I would advise is to stay within your rouges cargo weight limit. My rouge SV was bottoming out
