Your issue is likely either the Pro Series Pilot Brake Controller # 80550 is set too high, your brakes need to be adjusted, or you have a short.

The Pilot controler is a time delayed controller so it will always apply the brakes with the same amount of force each time. This is designated by how you have the controller set. Try adjusting this down to see if it helps your problem.

If your trailer brakes need to be adjust they could apply the brakes too hard or too soft. I recommend adjusting them so that there is just a slight drag when free spinning the wheel. See the video I've attached. If you skip ahead to around the 4:40 mark you'll see the brakes being adjusted.

Finally, inspect both the vehicle side and trailer side trailer connectors. Make sure it's clean and free of any corrosion. If this is fine inspect the wiring for the brakes on the trailer for any pinches or damaged points.

If none of this solves your problem let me know and we'll continue to troubleshoot.
