Kodiak 225 Stainless Calipers Assembly Rebuild Kit KDBC250KIT

Updated 04/18/2026 | Published 04/13/2026

Question:

greetings, question about the Kodiak 225 stainless calipers. The sleeve/pin assembly should move fairly easily in the rubber boot when both are properly greased with the recommended grease. If not, then boots should be replaced? Thanks

Great question Michael, you’re on the right track.

A Kodiak 225 caliper pin should move smoothly within the rubber boot when everything is properly cleaned and lubricated.

If the pins aren't moving freely, it could be due to contamination, the rubber boot swollen/deteriorated over time or lack of proper lubrication.

If cleaning and re-greasing doesn’t restore smooth movement, then replacing the boot is a good next step. In some cases, it may also be worth inspecting the pins themselves for wear or corrosion and replacing them if needed. Keeping those slide pins moving freely is important for even brake pad wear and proper caliper operation.

Kodiak Disc Brake Caliper Rebuild Kit # KDBC250KIT allows you to rebuild 1 Kodiak stainless steel brake caliper. For installation you'll need a 5/16" Allen wrench or 1/2" hex tool.

What kind of use does your trailer see; saltwater, freshwater, or mostly road use?
