I live in Alaska and was recently pulling a very heavy 40 foot boat back from the states and had a brake seal failure in Billings, Montana. Of course no one there had the right part and we resorted to the internet. This being my first purchase, I was somewhat hesitant as I was stuck in a town unknown to me but really needed my trailer brakes to go thru the mountains. I called late one night and spoke to Cathy H. and ordered everything needed. The package arrived on time with everything we needed to repair the trailer! Prices were very reasonable and she was a great help! Now that I'm back in my hometown of Anchorage, AK, I will definitely be using you guys again for all my trailer repair needs!

Service was very good but not excellent. When I ordered I was told I would receive by Fri. However, shortly after I received and email stating it was being delayed because it was not ready to ship. It actually arrived only one day late but it did cause concern on my part because I was leaving on Mon. Also, would really like to have etrailer post a video of how to install the kit.

Very good service but some room for improvement.

Item was shipped the next day and I received it promptly. The service is great. I also ordered an item that turned out not available for a couple weeks. They promptly called me. I was able to source the item from a different supplier. I will use ETrailer.com again.

  • Recommended Kodiak Disc Brake Caliper Re-Build Kit
We offer two caliper re-build kits for Kodiak disc brake systems. You will select yours based on axle rating. You can see both on the linked page, kit # KDBC225KIT that you referenced which is for brakes on 3500- to 6000-lb axles, such as # KDBC225S, and the other part # KDBC250KIT which is for brakes on axles rated at 7K- or 8K-lbs, such as # KDBC250S.

  • Replacement Guide Bolts for Kodiak 250 Calipers
Kodiak disc brake kit # K2HR712E uses 250 calipers, # KDBC250E, and the bolts for those are indeed # KGBS. There is also a rebuilt kit should you need additional parts # KDBC250KIT. It comes with the bolts, a new piston, seal, dust boot, and sleeve bushings.

  • Rebuild Kit for a Kodiak 250 Trailer Brake Caliper
As long as you rebuild the calipers properly and bleed the brakes you'd be good. For a rebuild kit for the Kodiak 250 calipers we have the part # KDBC250KIT. Using compressed air is still the way to go. I have come across many instances of people using this method to push out the piston. And the best part is, it works. If you do not have an air compressor I am sure a local shop would go ahead and do it for you since it takes only a few seconds.

  • Repair Kit Recommendation for a Kodiak 250 Caliper
The repair kit you need for the Kodiak 250 caliper is the part # KDBC250KIT. This disc brake caliper rebuild kit allows you to rebuild 1 Kodiak Model 250 stainless steel or Dacromet-plated brake caliper for 7,000-lb to 8,000 lb trailer brakes. Requires 5/16" Allen wrench or 1/2" hex tool for installation.

  • Recommended Kodiak 225 Caliper Rebuild Kit With Dust Boot
There is not any melting that is done to keep the dust seals on, but they may have used an adhesive of some sort. Normally they are just a tight fit and a small flat head screwdriver can be used with a rubber mallet to remove it. Most of the time you have to replace the seals because of wear anyway, so I recommend using the Kodiak Disc Brake Caliper Rebuild Kit for 3,500 lb to 6,000 lb Trailer Brakes # KDBC225KIT or # KDBC250KIT if you have the 7 or 8K axles and brakes.

  • Correct Replacement Guide Bolts for Kodiak Disc Brake Kit
It sounds like you might be referring to the guide bolts which secure the caliper to the mounting bracket and in which case, these come with the rebuild kits like the Kodiak Disc Brake Caliper Rebuild Kit for Trailer Brakes part # KDBC225KIT for 3,500 lbs - 6,000 lbs or part # KDBC250KIT for 7,000 lbs - 8,000 lbs.

  • Are Additional Parts Needed to Replace 250 Kodiak Disc Brake Calipers
You won't need any additional pieces when replacing the Kodiak Disc Brake Caliper # KDBC250S. I do recommend replacing both calipers on the same axle though as that will keep your braking even. We have the Rebuild Kit # KDBC250KIT that can also be used if the whole caliper on the other side doesn't need to be replaced.
