Recommendation for 15" trailer Rim with 5 1/2 bolt pattern on 22575R15 Tires

Updated 04/20/2026 | Published 04/13/2026

Question:

I am looking for a 15 in diameter metal rim for an old farm wagon. The lugs pattern measure 5 1/2 in. The tires are 225 75R 15 so i think that is a 6 in wide rim.

Hey Steve, this is a common question when it comes to older trailers.

We do have 15-inch steel wheels that fit your tire size, but the issue is the bolt pattern. Most of what’s available today is 5 on 4.5 or 5 on 5 bolt patterns.

In situations like this, we typically recommend upgrading the hub and drum assemblies to a more common bolt pattern, like 5 on 5. This opens up a lot more wheel options and makes replacements much easier to find down the road. The key is making sure the new hub and drum match your current spindle and axle so everything fits correctly.

If you want to share your axle capacity or bearing numbers, I’d be happy to help you find the right hub and drum setup to make that conversion.

What do you mostly use the farm wagon for; hauling or a project?
