Hi everybody. Andy here with etrailer. Let's take a quick look at this Tamarack ST205/75R15 radial trailer tire on this 15-inch black steel mod wheel. Now this tire and wheel assembly is gonna be great for your RVs, campers, and trailers. This is a special trailer tire or ST tire. It has sturdy sidewalls so that it can handle heavy loads.
This is created specifically for trailers and not intended for use on other vehicles. Now this radial tire is constructed with double steel belts and double nylon applies for increased durability. As you probably know, radial ply tires are designed for trailers that are towed on the highway. The nylon tread firming belt overlays help prevent tread separation, and the tread wear indicator is gonna make it very easy to see the tread depth. Now, as I mentioned at the beginning of our time together, and as we have stamped here on our tire, this is an ST205/75R15.
The section width is 7.99 inches, and the outer diameter, when fully inflated, is gonna be 27.12 inches. This is a load range C tire, meaning it has a six-ply rating. The maximum load is 1,820 pounds at 50 PSI. And this tire has a speed rating of M, indicating a maximum speed of 81 miles per hour. Now you probably notice this red cap on the valve stem.
That indicates that this assembly has been bead balanced. Balancing beads are a method used to balance tires, and they can be particularly useful on trailer tires, which often don't come pre-balanced, so the beads are placed inside the tire during production. Then as the tire rotates, the beads will distribute themselves to counteract any imbalances, promoting even tire wear and better performance. Now going to our wheel here, looking at the diameter, that's gonna be 15 inches and the width is five inches. This is a steel modular wheel.
It's rated for 2200 pounds. It's built to hold torque under load, and we have beveled stud holes that are gonna help the wheel seat firmly on your hub so you're not constantly re-torquing the lug nuts. The black powder coat finish over an e-coat primer is gonna do a great job of resisting rust long-term, and it's going to give you long term durability. It's got a pretty clean look that's gonna hold up through wet or salty conditions. The wheel stud size is a half an inch by 20. The center cap is sold separately, but if you decide to pick one up, just need to make sure that it fits the pilot diameter of 3.19 inches. Our bolt pattern is five on four and a half inches. And in case you don't know, the first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes, but the second number is the diameter and inches of the circle on which the bolt holes sit. So to determine the bolt circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes as we have here, I just simply measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. Now I think that's gonna wrap up our quick look today at this assembly.
