Is New Demco Recon Stealth Adapter Lighter Than A Standard 5th Wheel Hitch? Is It A One Man Job?

Is this hitch heavy like a normal 5th wheel hitch, or can one person handle it? Hooking up to my new Keystone fifth wheel travel trailer. thanks Old B&W is nice still but very heavy.

Hey Greg, the Demco Recon Stealth is definitely more manageable than a traditional one-piece 5th wheel hitch. It is a one person job for sure.
Whether you’re looking at # DM63UV or one of the truck-specific kits like # DM54QJ (Ford), # DM82SJ (Chevy), or # DM22SJ (RAM), the hitch breaks down into three separate pieces instead of coming out as one big assembly. That makes it much easier for one person to handle piece by piece.
If you have one of the vehicles that the kits fit, I'd grab one of them since the MOLLE panel storage is super convenient! Just keep in mind those kits only fit certain year models, mostly the newer ones 2020-2026 etc. If your truck is older, I'd go with the universal option with MOLLE panel storage.
