Hey Ben, thanks for reaching out!

The PullRite OEX SuperLite # PUL89ZR is what I recommend over the B&W Companion # BWRVK3305. The Companion has been a staple in the towing industry for a long time, but the OEX has a few key advantages that make it easier to tow with.

The first thing is that the OEX weighs in at about half the weight of the Companion so moving it in and out of your truck is MUCH easier. The second thing is the inverted gooseneck hitch ball connection. This looks a little weird, but since the hitch ball falls into the funnel it makes hooking up to your trailer so much easier than a king pin.

What do you think?

I was looking for more conventional fifth wheel set ups. How about the oex super fifth versus Curt power ride? Or would you recommend b&w in the conventional set up?

@Ben Ah, I see. The PullRite OEX # PUL79ZR is a solid choice as well, but it's a bit heavier than the Companion # BWRVK3305, and then the Curt PowerRide # C48BR is another great option, but whenever I've messed with it the parts are a little clunky to remove and adjust. So in this case I recommend the Companion as it's easier to use and will be lighter when you disconnect the head from the base. Do those comparisons help?
