Will 2019 Ford F-450 Require New Rear Tie-Downs Installing TorkLift Hitch

Updated 04/10/2026 | Published 04/03/2026

Question:

I have a 2019 ford F450 and have a truck camper I want to add the receiver that will allow me to tow 5000 lbs I have the TorkLift Tie Downs already installed if I buy the torklift magnum receiver will my tie down brackets still work? Is there any other option for towing 500lb young weight.

Hi Steven; if you install the TorkLift SuperHitch Magnum # TLF1008-30 you will need different rear tie-downs for your F-450. The TorkLift Camper Tie-Downs # TLR3504 will replace what you have now.

If you switch to a different aftermarket hitch you will still have to swap out the rear tie-downs. Is the concern the capacity when using a hitch extension? The SuperHitch Magnum is the only option that will keep that capacity high enough with longer extensions like # TLE1532 (32") or # TLE1542 (42") to clear your truck camper.

What kind of camper do you have and what are you towing?

How long of extension do you need? I went to the super hitch because I needed a 48” extension if it would have been 36 I would use the cannon for the 3” receiver and saved some money.

Steven, I have a 22 F450 KR. You will have to use the rear camper mounts designed for the Torklift hitch. I put a Magnum 30 on our truck, and the camper mounts for it. Takes like 5 minutes to install them. Well worth it, and they work great! We have an Arctic Fox 1150, and we pull our boats behind the camper. I use a 48” Super truss. I have put Torklift hitches, fastguns, and camper mounts on 2 450’s, and 2 F-350 dually trucks. Great stuff, worth what they cost!
