Question:

I have a 2021 Toyota Highlander Hybrid Platinum model and am looking for a trailer hitch and wiring. We want to use it to carry our 1UP bike rack for 2 e-bikes. After reading some of the questions/answers and watching a couple of videos, I think the Class 3 Hitch e75ZR should work. Im not sure of the Wiring kit. What would you suggest for both? Thank you for your help!

Hey Donna! The etrailer Hitch item # e75ZR is exactly what I would recommend for your 2021 Toyota Highlander Hybrid Platinum. This custom fit hitch has a 2" receiver with a 500 lbs tongue weight capacity. It's going to work great with your 1UP bike rack.

Since your Highlander does not have the towing package, you'll need the Curt Powered Tail Light Converter item # C59236. This universal wiring kit is designed to work with hybrid tail light setups. It will provide you with a 4-way connector.

What kind of e-bikes do you have?

The previous comment was correct. The hitch fits perfectly and you will need the wiring harness too. Without the wiring harness, your trailer lights will not work.

Hi Donna—I bought the same hitch and it was easy to install with all the provided bolts. It is a very good piece of equipment and I would buy from these guys again in the future. Mike

The hitch install is fairly easy. I was able to put my Highlander up on a lift which made the job easier. Also a set of ratcheting wrenches for the bolts on the passenger side helped to. The lighting kit was a snap to install. Just follow the instructions and you'll be fine. Etrailer sells a bracket to hold the wire plug to the bumper. I recommend that so for plug doesn't just tangle.
