What Size Wrenches are Used to Tighten the Curt Hitch Ball Part # C40030
Updated 07/08/2014 | Published 07/06/2014 >
Question:
I ordered one of these to put on my weight-distributing hitch which requires the nut to be in an enclosed space, so I am trying to confirm what size OPEN-ENDED wrenches it takes. I believe the nut is 1 7/8inch , what size fits the flat spots on the ball? I prefer not to gouge up the surface with a pipe wrench or something, and would rather use properly sized non-adjustable wrenches.

Yes, I went out into our warehouse to measure the nut of the Trailer Hitch Ball # C40030 and found that a 1-7/8 inch wrench would be the correct size. The same size wrench would be used for the top portion of the ball as well.
