Question:

I have a 2020 f 350 diesel srw short bed4/4. Lariat. I think I want slider auto hitch. Looking at pullrite to have less weight against my payload. 2714 vs 2914. I believe they are same weight? I have read better reviews on the 2914. Trailer gvwr is12900. I wont be towing water weight . So is the 2914 built better with the same weight? I know it costs more but Im looking for safety. Rail height? I think both would work? Cougar 316rls 2027. Thanks for any help.

Hey Paul! The PullRite SuperGlide # PUL43RR (2714) and # PUL73RR (2914) do weigh the same. The main difference is the capacity, which is going to come from the base of the 5th wheel hitch. Since your 2027 Keystone Cougar 316RLS has a GVWR of 12,900 lbs you're well within the limits of both.

You could say the higher capacity hitch is "built better" because it is stronger, but in this case there really isn't an advantage for you. The only other difference between the two is the hitch height. The # PUL43RR has a hitch height of 17-1/2" while the # PUL73RR is 18-1/2" so it sits a little taller.

Do you know what kind of pin box is on the Cougar? It looks like it might be the Curt Helux, which would require the PullRite SuperGlide Quick Connect Capture Plate for Lippert Helux Pin Boxes # PUL68MR. If it is something else let me know in the comments and I'll help you find the right capture plate.

Where are you headed once you get everything set up?
