Is The Gen-Y Hitch Gooseneck Trailer Hitch GY83XR First Or Second Gen?

Question:

Gen Y gooseneck Hitch? I am just needing confirmation the item you have listed as partGY83XR is the Gen Y Gooseneck offset hitch Gen 2 and not the original. photo shows the old one. Im looking for gen y partGH-21014. Any info is greatly appreciated. Thank you

Hello Rickey, thanks for reaching out. Yes, the Gen-Y Hitch Gooseneck Trailer Hitch # GY83XR is the gen 2. It's the exact Gen-Y part # GH-21014 you are looking for. It looks like we haven't updated our pictures yet but I can assure you what we have in stock here now is the second gen and not the original.

This will fit the OEM puck system in a Ram truck.

What truck do you have?

I have a new 2025 Mega Cab, and I wanted to extra turning radius, plus setting the weight of my horse trailer back that puts it more centered on my axle. Easy to install, and to store. I do notice a slight rattle when its not hooked to trailer when I hit a bump. Quality hitch and I would buy again. Stan C Winward St.George, Utah

@Stan Hey Steve, thanks for sharing! Glad to hear your are liking your Gen-Y goosebox! If you are seeing a slight rattle it might be worth checking to make sure all the bolts are torqued.

@Stan i used a piece of 1/4” hard rubber(had a piece laying around from a bed cover before i did the bed liner), slid it under the ball part of the hitch, marked it and cut it to shape. Then slid it back under. I also safety wired the pins down. No more rattling ????

I'm running the same setup in my 2018 Megacab and haven't had any problems yet. I'm also not getting any strange noises. I do have a sprayed in bedliner.
