Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. And today, we're gonna take a brief look at this heavy-duty heat shield for the Rock Tamers mud flaps. This stainless steel plate is going to protect your mud flap from melting due to the heat of your truck's exhaust pipe. This is going to be perfect for a modified rear exhaust outlet near your mud flap. And this plate will fit most sizes and styles of mud flaps.
And it will also let you install a Rock Tamers mud flap system closer to your tailpipe. On your screen, I am including our item numbers for the Rock Tamers heavy-duty adjustable mud flap system, either for the 2 1/2 inch hitch or the three-inch hitch. And those item numbers there are on your screen. And just take the item numbers that you're interested in for reference and put it in the search field of our website, and it will take you to that system that you choose. This is going to be an easy installation and what I like in particular is the hardware comes in this nice tray that keeps everything organized for you and easy to see.
And let me go ahead and give you some overall measurements so you can be aware of just how big this is. So, the overall length of this is sitting right at about 9 7/8 inches long. The overall height, we are sitting right at about 8 7/8 inches tall. And this is about 3/8 of an inch thick. And you are going to get one heat shield.

This heat shield has been perfect. I was told I needed to move my exhaust, because this wouldn't be enough and it has been more than enough. If you are hesitating to purchase this. DON"T

The first trip pulling my 5th wheel the flaps got hot hot enough one of the insulators melted and came through the rubber. They were installed as directed. Not impressed. I should have just moved the exhaust tip out the side where GM should have put it in the first place.

I have the 6.6 chevy gas still warped the mud flap. Didn't destroy it just bent it out of shape but didn't completely destroy it.

I noticed the mud flap was starting to show damage from the heat of the tail pipe.I purchased the heat shield to protect the flap and it does just that. Install was easy and appearance is great. Thanks E trailer. Fast service as well.

Hopefully this will prevent me from burning through another mud flap.
Quality is good but a couple of inches wider would have been better.

Very good. Due to the exhaust pipe being at a 45 degree angle, I had to install 2 heat shields side by side. They are doing there job and mud flap is not melting.
