Question:
Hi! I am looking to buy a hitch and a 2- bike hitch rack. I was looking at hollywood. I go camping a lot and would love a rack that can be installed quickly or move away from the trunk so i can access it! Thank you! Looking forward to your response. Roni

Hi Roni! For a hitch I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C67JR. This has a nice clean look with the concealed cross tube and better clearance. It features a bolt-on installation and comes with a limited lifetime warranty.
Then for a bike rack, if you want to stick with Hollywood Racks the Sport Rider SE # HLY84FR is a good option. This supports up to 80 lbs per bike and has a tilt-away feature so you still can access the rear of your Outback with the rack installed.
If your bikes aren't that heavy I recommend looking at the Thule OutPace Bike Rack for 2 Bikes # TH39SA as another option. This can hold up to 55 lbs per bike and only weighs 30 lbs itself so it is a lot easier to handle and install/uninstall. It has a no-tool setup and also has the tilt-away feature so you can access the rear of your vehicle.
What kind of bikes do you have?

Hi Ron, I purchased products to support my camping, biking, and kayaking interests. I chose the Class III-2" C67JR Curt Trailer Hitch, as Robin suggested. It is well concealed under the bumper of my Subaru Outback. I preferred the strength of the 2" receiver for my bike rack. The "trey" type of bike racks you showed are easy, quick, secure, and I'm envious of my friends who have them. I chose a Thule rack where the bikes hang down instead. If I were to have the "tray" type, it would bottom out as I backed into my driveway, and I may also hit something when backing into a camping spot. When a bike hangs down, the wheels are free to move in case you back into something. I can also raise the rear hatch with the bikes in place. A lady's bike can be adapted so it too can hang from the bike rack.
