Updated 03/02/2026 | Published 02/25/2026

Question:

just ordered the GY33GR for my 2024 Jayco Eagle 317RLOK. GVWR 12995 and Tw @ 2858. I am just hoping to confirm a bit late, that this is the correct hitch to change out my 5th wheel?

Hey Kevin! With a GVWR of 12,995 lbs the 4.5k TW model was the right choice. That leaves the bolt pattern. Did you confirm that your 2024 Jayco Eagle 317RLOK has a Lippert Rhino? The Gen-Y Hitch Shock Absorbing 5th Wheel to Gooseneck Pin Box # GY33GR is designed to fit the Lippert Rhino bolt pattern.

If you have your trailer handy you can either measure or send me a picture of the sticker with the serial number to check. See the attached photo which shows how to measure. If you get 7-1/2" on center from the center of the front row to the center of the back row it is the Rhino and you ordered the right part. If you have something else let me know in the comments below.

I also noticed you didn't pick up safety chains. If you don't already have them, you will need the Safety Chain with 2 Hooks for Gen-Y 5th Wheel to Gooseneck Pin Box # GY49GR to complete your setup.

@KevinG I just ran that by Lippert and it is the Rhino bolt pattern so once you get those chains you'll be all set!

If you have a short bed, you may want to consider and off set ball to give you more cab clearance. GenY has a 5” and Curt is 4”. I use the Curt and have good clearance between my Ram 3500 and Brinkley z3100.
