Thanks so much for that info Tyler, and I was able to find the right Gen-Y gooseneck pin box for you. Since you have the Lippert Rhino on your 2024 Jayco Eagle 355MBQS, the right option is the following:
- Gen-Y Hitch Shock Absorbing 5th Wheel to Gooseneck Pin Box # GY33GR
The # GY33GR is the correct replacement for the Rhino, and is for loaded pin weights between 2,500 lbs and 4,500 lbs, which is perfect for the 15,200 lb GVWR of your Eagle 355MBQS; with that GVWR your pin weight will be right in the 3,000-3,500 lb range.
You made a really nice choice going with the Gen-Y as it has built-in shock absorbers which is going to be much more comfortable using a standard 5th wheel hitch and pin box. The pin box is also auto latching, making it super easy to use. The only other thing you'll need is the safety chain made for these pin boxes, the Safety Chain with 2 Hooks for Gen-Y 5th Wheel to Gooseneck Pin Box # GY49GR.

Kyle, I have a 2018 Jayco 355MBQS that came with a RPB72-1621HD-03 MOR/ryde Fifth Wheel Trailer Hitch Pin Box. I removed it and put an airborne sidewinder on the trailer. I just purchased a new 2024 GMC 2500 with short bed. It has the trailer package and puck system. I have a slider hitch but was looking at the Gen Y gooseneck system. I am trying to have something that frees up the bed space when I’m not towing my 5th wheel rv. The slider hitch is so heavy. Which Gen Y would I need? Any other possible suggestions? Thxs!
