Updated 02/25/2026 | Published 02/22/2026

Question:

Hello Question about PD4045CSV I am looking at upgrading my rv batteries from 2x 88AH lead batteries to 2x 120Ah lithium batteries. I actually have converter pd4045KA. Not 100 sure it support lithium since it is a 2020 and this is when PD introduced lithium switch. I will check when I get a chance it is in storage Anyway, I am looking into module PD4045CSV to support lithium. Does it provide higher voltage charging 14.4 so that the battery are fully charged ? Do I need to change my wire sizes in or their to support this capacity ? Thank you.

Hey Reno, welcome back! The current version of the Progressive Dynamics item # PD4045KA has a switch at the top left of the converter that you can see in the pictures below.

If your item # PD4045KA isn't lithium compatible the Replacement Converter Section item # PD4045CSV is exactly what you'll need to upgrade it. The Lithium LI setting provides a constant state of 14.6 volts. So long as you have 6-8 AWG wiring you won't need to upgrade with this setup.

Just a heads up the item # PD4045CSV is not going to charge quickly. Two 120Ah batteries being charged by a 45-amp charger, will take between 6 to 8 hours of active charging if you run your batteries all the way down.
