Question:

Hello, Im looking for a hitch for my 2026 Hyundai Palisade gasoline engine. I have a Velocirax vertical bike rack that requires a tongue weight of 500 lbs. According to Curt, their model isnt compatible with vertical bike racks. Velocirax referred me to you. I live in Quebec, Canada. Thank you.

Hello Yoann; at this time, the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C22RJ is the only hitch available for your 2026 Palisade. Curt does have a restriction on vertical bike racks so technically it is not compatible with your VelociRAX bike rack. Unless you choose to ignore this restriction, the only option is to use a different bike rack.

How many bikes are you carrying?

Technically, do you see a restriction for the use of this type of support or would you have used it? Thanks

@YoannT I see your other questions now, and that it is a 7-bike rack you want to use. That is a lot of bikes, and a lot of movement back there. In my opinion Curt is just being cautious and doesn't want to take responsibility if you have an issue with that kind of rack. If you decide to use it I would add extra straps for sure. If it were me, I would try to figure out a different solution but it will probably be a pain. I'm not a big fan of hanging bike racks but you could use the Thule Apex XT # TH9026XT for 5 of the bikes and put two on a roof rack bike rack like the # Y02103. A 4-bike platform like # TH69TX and then three on the roof would work as well. Outside of that I would look at a small trailer you can put them on but it will still need quite a bit of space for that many bikes.
