Hey George. The Mighty Cord RV Power Cord Adapter Plug item # A10-1550DAVP is just an adapter plug. It will convert a 50 Amp twist style plug into a 15 amp 3-prong plug like you see on a wall outlet.
For a 50 Amp surge protector you can use the Mighty Cord SurgeMinder Surge Protector and Circuit Tester item # SU99SR.
If you're looking for a surge protector to plug the item # A10-1550DAVP into, you can grab a standard one that would be used on household electronics.

George, I purchased this going on 2 years ago So far it’s been great and no problems at all. I use it while in storage mode during the winter and it’s been reliable for my needs.
