Will Dometic FanTastic Roof Vent Assembly Upgrade Kit Fit Older Fan-Tastic Vent

Question:

Hello I am looking at the power lift fantastic fan conversion kit. In the reviews there were indications that older units may not fit correctly. Please let me know if a model 4000 fan from the year 2000 will work with this kit. This fan has a cylindrical motor having been built before the pancake motors were used, is three speed but not reversible.

Hey Garth, yes the Dometic FanTastic Roof Vent Assembly Upgrade Kit # FV807357 will work on your older Dometic fan. The frame design hasn't changed since then so it will bolt right up.

Hello Jameson, Thank you for the answer, but I have read some information that seems to conflict with that, so I'd like to ask for more help. I read that there are three styles of frames, one with clipped corners and one with square corners, and also one with a different lifting arm. I also read that the -359 includes a remote and the -357 does not include a remote. Please give me more assurance of what will fit my old model 4000 fan. If it's true that the -357 that you recommend does not include a remote, can I buy a remote? Thanks very much, Garth

@Garth The part # FV807357 that I mentioned does come with a remote. This has the clipped corners so you might compare that to what you have but this is supposed to work as a replacement for what you have.
