Question:

I have a 2013 RAM 3500 short bed. I am needing standard rails for a 5th wheel. The 5th wheel is 17000 lbs dry. Can you point me in the right direction for what I need?

Hey Kyle! I can definitely point you in the right direction. Since your 2013 Ram 3500 is the short bed model you're going to want a sliding 5th wheel hitch. Also, with a dry weight of 17,000 lbs it is safe to say your GVWR is over 18k so all of those 5th wheel hitch models are out.

For a hitch that will give you a great towing experience I recommend the PullRite SuperGlide 5th Wheel Hitch for Ram # PUL95RR. The SuperGlide has a capacity of 20,000 lbs (make sure your GVWR does not exceed this) and is an auto-slide so you don't have to get out of the truck to engage it when you turn. This includes base rails and brackets for installation.

You will also need a capture plate for your pin box. If you can let me know your pin box model (1621, Rhino, etc.) in the comments below I can help you find the right one.

If you won't be doing a lot of towing, and would prefer something a little more economical, the Curt A20 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ S20 Slider for Ram # C28FJ is another option. This also includes base rails with custom brackets.

What kind of 5th wheel will you be towing?

I already have the pull right hitch. I am specifically looking for the standard rails that would connect the hitch to the truck.

@KyleS then you can use the PullRite Custom Installation Kit w/ Base Rails for 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches # PUL47RR.
