Choosing Between Fogatti and GE Tankless Water Heaters
Updated 01/19/2026 | Published 01/18/2026 >
Question:
I went to the RV show in Tampa this week. Looked into new tankless water heaters. I was impressed by the Fogatti products. Saw them installed on some high end units made by Airstream and Lance but these were the InstaShower 9 and not the newest model Instashower Ultra. Was ready to buy but in my search I saw that Fogatti is sold on Amazon and the associated reviews are numerous where problems with circuit boards and overseas customer were problems. About 20-25 of reviews were avg or below. I am thinking that I should buy the GE Profile Tankless Water Heater. It is used in new Winnebago trailers but reviews are very few. I take this to indicate satisfactory experiences. Does etrailer have an opinion?

Hey Lewis! Sometimes it is hard to trust reviews but in this case what you saw on the Fogatti isn't out of the ordinary. From my experience, they have pretty poor support so when you run into those problems it turns into a major issue. Personally, I don't go out of my way to recommend their water heaters.
I would definitely put my trust in the GE Profile Tankless RV Water Heater # GE74RR over the Fogatti. They make good products, it is a trusted brand. We don't have a lot of reviews for these since we didn't start carrying them until recently. The one thing you want to do is make sure your cutout meets the 12-3/4" H x 12-13/16" W x 23-1/2" deep requirement for the GE.
What kind of heater are you replacing?

Replacing a Truma aqua go comfort. Cutout specified in the Truma manual is 12.8 x 12.8. The GE should be good just need to check the depth. The WH is located inside the kitchen cabinet on the floor.
