Replacement Option For Atwood OD-5001 Water Heater

Updated 01/15/2025 | Published 12/08/2022

Question:

Replacement for 90274/91370. Have an Atwood OD5001 gas only that needs a new board. The original on and subsequent replacement on have been discontinued. I looks as though it would work, but it’s not listed in your cross comparison numbers. Can you advise, please? TIA

Like you mentioned, the replacement boards have been discontinued, so really the only option we can offer is a new water heater. I fully realize it's not what you are wanting to hear, but it's the best we can do to get you a working water heater.

Your Atwood is an on-demand water heater and for something similar go with a tankless, the Furrion RV Tankless Water Heater - 18" x 18" Door # FR68SR or 16" x 16" Door # FR98SR.

These fit in a 12-3/4" to 12-13/16" wide x 12-5/8" to 12-3/4" tall x 23-1/2" deep cut out, and you'll want to measure to make sure that's what you have.

@Don The "base" part of the Furrion Tankless Water Heater # FR93FR has a 12-5/8" x 12-5/8" cutout requirement so I think it will fit. If it doesn't, you just have to adjust for 1/8" horizontally and vertically in order for this to fit. If your door is 14" tall by 18" wide then the best option for you is the Furrion RV Tankless Water Heater # FR48SR which comes with a 16" tall x 18" wide door.

@JonG I’ll measure it again. I did not measure the door, just the outer edge of the unit. What is the best way to measure?

@Don The best way to measure is the opening, or cutout, that your current water heater fits into. The door on the heater is basically just a trim piece so you can use any size, but people usually like to get a door that matches their old door dimensions, so everything matches up like it used to.
