Hello Tobie,
Welcome to etailer, I am glad you found us!
The actual overall depth of the 22" Wide Pinnacle Ventline/Dexter ducted range hood # VE78SR is 18 inches from front to back. This measurement represents the full physical depth of the unit and how far it extends into the interior space once installed.
The 12-inch measurement shown in some descriptions does not refer to the depth of the range hood itself. Instead, it indicates the minimum cabinet depth required for installation, which can cause confusion when comparing specifications.
What kind of camper is this going in, and what trip are you looking most forward to this year?

I did purchase the same RV hood Vent in discussion, I did install it and it works fine Even somewhat quieter, but the original hood Vent that came with my Rockwood Was 20 inches not 18 inches as the diagram shows so the new one from Etrailer is flush and does not stick out 2inches , but it does what it's supposed to do, and that works for me. Hope this bit of info helps PS make sure you hook the wires up correctly
