Diode and Charge Line Kit for Flat Towing a 2024 Ford F-250 Super Duty

Updated 01/06/2026 | Published 01/03/2026

Question:

I have a 2013 Entegra Coach Cornerstone RV and a 2024 Ford F-250 toad. I have a Blue Ox Avail Tow Bar - Motorhome Mount - 10,000 lbs. What adaptors do I need to use this with Demco tow bar? Also, what wiring kit do I need for lights to work and what kit to keep my F-250 battery charged while towing if needed? Thank you!

Hey, Jordan!

Since you already have the Blue Ox Avail tow bar, you wont need any sort of adapter to connect to the Demco baseplate part # DM68FR. A few of Blue Ox's older tow bars would need an adaptor but not with the Avail.

For the electrical parts you will need diode kit part # RM-15267 for lights as well as the Roadmaster charge line kit part # RM-156-25. Your truck will drain the battery when in tow mode so you will need this so the battery doesn't drain. If you need a power line on the 7-way on your RV you can get part # RM-156-75. The 7-way may already have the power ran to it. Sometimes it's not so wanted to include it just in case.

Sounds like this isn't your first go around with flat towing?

Thank you so much Gwendolyn, you are very helpful. Yes ma'am, I have experience flat towing, just purchased a new vehicle and forgot what all I needed but you helped ease that pain. I'll get my order in. Have a great day!!

@JordanW You don't install a flat tow set up everyday so I'm happy that I was able to help make it easier for you! Are you transferring over a braking system as well?
