Best transmission cooler for a 2007 four wheel drive Honda Pilot. Will the cooler increase my towing weight?

Hey Michael, thanks for reaching out. For the 2007 Honda Pilot 3.5l V6, what I recommend is the Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit # D13503. This is a highly efficient class 3 cooler. Adding this will help your transmission perform better and help avoid any heat related failures.
It will not increase your vehicles towing capacity, it will just help the vehicle handle the weight better.
Take a look at the video I linked below. It shows an example of installation.

Put on my 2011 Silverado temps we’re getting to 200 wile pulling my boat i installed this same cooler now it won’t break 150 I’m happy with temps of 150 and will make transmission last a lot longer

Hi, I used this and like it a lot. I agree that it doesn’t actually increase what your car is rated to row, but it will radically increase your confidence that you are caring for your car and your transmission. My understanding is that without a cooler like this, then you are straining your transmission and it will likely not last as long before having trouble. I added this cooler as well as added a trailer brake system which makes me feel very safe and I know I’m caring for my car adequately. Hope this helps!
