Hey Michael, thanks for reaching out. For the 2007 Honda Pilot 3.5l V6, what I recommend is the Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit # D13503. This is a highly efficient class 3 cooler. Adding this will help your transmission perform better and help avoid any heat related failures.
It will not increase your vehicles towing capacity, it will just help the vehicle handle the weight better.
Take a look at the video I linked below. It shows an example of installation.
Let me know if there is anything else I can do to help.

I installed this for my 2007 Nissan Xterra which are notorious for having transmission cooler fluid contaminated with internal radiator fluid. I chose this as an external transmission cooler and didn't notice any performance gains, but did notice that after checking my transmission fluid weekly for 6 months, the quality of the fluid was very good, even with occasional rock crawling. I would recommend!

Hi, I used this and like it a lot. I agree that it doesn’t actually increase what your car is rated to row, but it will radically increase your confidence that you are caring for your car and your transmission. My understanding is that without a cooler like this, then you are straining your transmission and it will likely not last as long before having trouble. I added this cooler as well as added a trailer brake system which makes me feel very safe and I know I’m caring for my car adequately. Hope this helps!
