Will Derale Series 8000 Cooler Fit a 2018 Honda Pilot

Can you confirm that the Derale Series 8000 transmission cooler D13503 will fit a 2018, 6 speed, 2 wheel drive Honda Pilot LX. Thanks

The Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit # D13503 will fit your 2018 Honda Pilot 6-Speed just fine, yes.

We actually have an installation video of this on a 2017 Pilot I'm adding to this answer page for your reference.

Have you installed an additional cooler before?

Thanks for confirming the fit. I have not installed a cooler previously. This will be the only cooler since Honda does not have a cooler option for the 2 WD Pilot. I understand that installing the cooler will not increase the towing capacity beyond the Honda spec of 3500 lbs. I am installing the cooler to keep the ATF temp cooler when towing a small tear drop trailer weighing 1500 lbs loaded.

FYI...I have been monitoring the ATF temps on the Pilot prior to installing a cooler. I sometimes see temps around 200 deg F (not towing, no cooler installed), in stop and go traffic conditions with ambient Temps in low to mid 80 s in Florida. Under highway driving conditions the temps are usually around 185 deg F. I haven't had chance to monitor temps when towing but I am sure they will be higher depending on ambient Temps and uphill towing.

@GrahamL Yes, towing will put a strain on your engine so it will increase the temps some. The cooler will help mitigate that for sure.

I notice that Honda use Constant Tension hose clamps (Spring hose clamps) on the ATF lines of the Pilot. Should I reuse them, assuming they are the correct size for the pipe supplied with the cooler kit. In the videos it looks like regular worm gear clamps were used for all pipe connections. @GrahamL As long as they fit, and the clamps are in good working order you can definitely reuse them! These aftermarket transmission coolers are designed to fit a wide variety of vehicles which is why they include more universal clamps with the kit.
