Updated 12/08/2025 | Published 11/23/2025

Question:

On the RAM 2026 3500 with the Trailer TPMS, they look like they are aluminum valve stems. My trailer tires are 120 PSI Cold, dont think these will work at that pressure

Hey James, thanks for reaching out. Aluminum valve stems, especially the clamp-in style, are built for high pressure and can typically handle up to around 200 psi. That’s a big step up from standard rubber snap-in stems, which are usually rated for about 65 psi, or the higher-pressure rubber types that go to around 100 psi. I can’t give a firm answer without knowing exactly which valve stem you’ve got, though - the exact PSI rating can vary by brand and design. So the best move is to check the manufacturer’s specs for your specific stem.

Hey James, were you able to confirm the PSI rating for the aluminum valve stems on your Ram’s trailer TPMS? Knowing what you found could help others checking pressure limits on similar setups.
