Video Transcript for The Low-Down on the Americana High Pressure Rubber Snap-In Valve Stem

Today we're going to review part number AM20907. This is the high pressure rubber snap-in valve stem. It has a maximum pressure of 100 PSI. These tubular snap-in valves for high pressure applications are usually designed for medium and heavy duty trucks and trailers, and must be used when their recommended cold inflation pressure exceeds the 65 PSI. These high pressure snap-in valves that will fit the 0.625 rim hole . which is what this will fit into .. will allow a maximum cold inflation of 100 PSI.

These are typically used in steel wheels high pressure snap-in valves. They combine a thicker rubber snap-in base with the metal barrel, which you can see right here, and the plastic cap that goes over. The effective length of this valve stem, which is measured once it's installed into the wheel . the effective length will be measured from the wheel up to the top here. On this one, the effective length youre looking at about 1 1/4 inch. Again, this fits the rim hole diameter of 0.625.

The wheels that have that size rim hole are usually 16 inches inaudible 00:01:16, because they are used in the medium and heavy duty trucks and trailers. That should do it for the review of part number Am20907, the high pressure rubber snap-in valve stem with the 100 PSI maximum pressure. .

  • Can I Determine the psi Rating of a Wheel
Since wheels will be able to withstand the psi rating of any of the tires that are meant to fit it you will need to look at the valve stem as that is the deciding factor. If your valve stem has the rubber all the way up to the threads, like part # AM20903, then it will be rated around 65 psi. If there is some reinforcement between the rubber and the threads, like part # AM20904 or # AM20907, then your valve stem can be rated between 80 and 100 psi. The only valve stems that are rated for...

  • Do Tire Valve Stems Come Included with Tires That Are Purchased Unmounted
Tires that are sold alone, not pre-mounted on a rim/wheel, do not include valve stems but we do offer these as separate items. Tires that are pre-mounted and sold with a rim/wheel do of course include the valves. I have linked you to the various parts available, which include both metal and rubber types and in various psi ratings, such as # AM20906.

  • What Is The Maximum PSI Rating For The Aluminum Liger Trailer Wheel # LH49FR
Since wheels are rated to withstand the PSI rating of the tires that are meant to fit it you will need to look at the valve stem as that is the deciding factor for the PSI rating, since it would be the lowest rated component for the wheel. With the Aluminum Liger Trailer Wheel # LH49FR having a valve stem like the Americana High Pressure Rubber Snap-In Valve Stem # AM20907 you would have a max PSI of 100 for the wheel.

  • How to Determine if Wheels Can Withstand 110 psi Rating for New Tires
Unless otherwise stated on the wheel itself, wheels themselves will be able to withstand the psi rating of any tire that is confirmed to fit it. The piece that you will want to look at is the valve stem. If you have a rubber valve stem then the highest rated one that is available (anywhere) would be up to 100 psi like part # AM20907. If you want to use a tire that has a psi rating over 100 then you will need to make sure that you have metal valve stems like part # AM20906. Valve stems...

Your Goodyear Endurance Tire is the ST225/75R15 size that you are looking for. This has a load range of E (2,860 lbs at 80 psi) and a max speed of 87 mph just like what you currently have. For a wheel I recommend the Dexstar Steel Mini Mod Trailer Wheel # AM20539 which is a silver color, has the same weight rating, comes with a limited 2-year warranty, and is made here in the USA. • The Max PSI for Trailer Wheels Versus Tire Max PSI
The max psi rating is specific to each tire as it is tested, so you cannot simply increase tire pressure to get a higher speed rating or increase weight capacity. Your tires could overheat or wear quickly because they are not designed for that pressure rating. Overheating is the number one cause of tire failure including blow outs and it is almost always due to improper inflation or traveling over the speed rating of the tire. When loading a higher rated trailer tire onto a trailer wheel as long as you stay within the lower of the two's weight rating and the psi rating of the wheel's valve stem you'll be fine. So you need to determine the psi of your valve stems. First of all if they're metal they're gonig to be rated for over 100 psi. As a rule of thumb if they're rubber and the threads go all the way to the rubber of the stem then they're rated up to 65 psi. If there is metal between the threads and the...

  • High-Pressure Tire Valve Stem for 110-PSI Tires
It is usually the tire valve stem that matters when upgrading trailer tires to a higher load range that needs higher psi pressure. A bolt-in metal valve stem like # AM20906 handles pressure up to 200-psi and it includes two grommets so that it will fit a rim hole of either 0.453 or 0.625 inches. You will use only the one grommet that fits your rim. Rubber valve stems usually top out at 100-psi, as with # AM20907. The tire you referenced # AM10501 is a Load Range F in size ST235/85R16...

  • Trailer Tire and Rim Pressure Capacities and Correct Inflation
In a trailer tire the limiting factor for PSI pressure is usually the valve stem. Different valve stems handle different pressures. Since most valve stems are rubber they will start to dry rot and should typically be replaced at the same time you replace your tires. When looking for new valve stems you'll want to ensure that they're rated for the PSI of your tires and the correct size for the valve stem hole in the wheel. For example, the Americana High Pressure Rubber Snap-In Valve Stem # AM20907 you were looking at has a 100 PSI rating and fits a 0.625" diameter hole. Wheels 16" and up in diameter typically have...
