Question:
Hello, We have a Haulotte 4527A towable man lift. The right side brake seized itself to the the drum and broke the pad. The part number on the brake are not legible. The drum had 8-201and 9 MTI stamped on the outside of it. Also says max bore 12.09” This trailer has hydraulic surge brakes and a parking brake handle on it. I was wondering if you could point me in the direction of replacement brake kits and hub kits for it. I am thinking I will just do all new on both wheels to avoid a problem on the left side in the future. Thanks! Josh

Hey Josh, thanks for reaching out. The part number from the drum helps a lot, but there are a few different versions of the 8-201 hub so you really just need to determine which one fits your application best. All 3 options I will list below use the same bearings so it boils down to the weight capacity and the inner diameter of the grease seal used:
- Part - # 8-201-9UC3-EZ - 5.2K - 6K capacity and seal has ID of 2.125"
- Part - # 8-201-5UC3-EZ - 5.2K capacity and seal has ID of 2.125"
- Part - # K08-201-98 - 5.2K capacity and seal has ID of 2.25"
Aside from those subtle differences they are all essentially the same. To determine the ID of your current grease seal you can either look for a part number on the seal itself or you can use a digital caliper to measure the spindle where your current grease seal is located.
The correct brakes are the following:
- Hydraulic Trailer Brake Kit - Uni-Servo - 12" - Left and Right Hand Assemblies - 5.2K to 7K # AKUBRK-7
