Question:

I have a single axle boat trailer. There is 1” clearance between tires and fenders. The boat weighs 3000lbs. The springs are eye / eye and measure 26-1/4” center to center holes.4leaf. I would like to install 5000lb springs. What do you recommend

Hey Mel. How did you get the 26-1/4" measurement on your current leaf springs? If the weight of the boat and trailer was still on the suspension they're probably going to be closer to 26" long if not shorter. Leaf springs like to stretch out after years of use and the only way to get an accurate measurement is to lift one side of your trailer up or take a measurement from the center of the spring eye to the center pin on the leaf spring along the curve( measurement B in that attached image). This measurement will be the same no matter how worn the spring has become, it is the best way to measure for a replacement.

You can add this information where it says Reply to Jerred H.

If it ends up being 26" long, you can install the 6-Leaf Double-Eye Spring for 4,500-lb Trailer Axles item # e27SR. I don't have a 5,000 lbs capacity one in this length. The leafs on this spring are 3/8" thick each. The spring pack is 5-13/16" tall overall. If you compare this measurement to your current springs leaf pack that's how much ride height you will gain if your axle is mounted below your springs.

Is your axle mounted above or below your springs? If it's above what is the diameter of your 3,500 lbs axle?
