A rough ride usually means your suspension isn’t flexing like it should. These CE Smith shackle straps connect your double-eye leaf springs to the rear hanger or equalizer so the springs can pivot and share the load between axles. That even weight transfer gives your trailer a smoother, more stable ride whether it’s on a single-axle or multi-axle setup.
When suspension parts flex under load, you want solid components holding everything together. Each strap measures 4" long, 1-1/4" wide, and 1/4" thick with bolt holes spaced 2-1/2" center to center. The size and thickness give you dependable strength for consistent handling mile after mile.
Getting everything lined up is simple thanks to standard sizing that fits typical trailer hardware. These straps require 2-1/8" inside width U-bolts (sold separately) and are designed for 2" trailer frames. You get the right clearances and geometry so installation goes smoothly and the suspension cycles correctly once it’s all bolted up.

Now these steel shackle straps are going to help connect a double eye leaf spring to your rear hangar on your single axle trailers or to the equalizer on your multi axle trailers, allowing the necessary pivot of the springs, which evenly distributes the weight between the axles and gives you a smoother ride. Now these shackle straps are gonna fit your two inch trailer frames, and this does require U-bolts with the inside width of two and one eighth inches. And those U-bolts are sold separately, but they can be found here at etrailer.com.
Now let me give you some other measurements that will prove helpful for you. So taking a look at the overall length of the strap, lining that up there so you can see it, and so I can see it, we're sitting right at four inches long. And then looking at the width, we're sitting right at one and a quarter inches, and then the thickness, it's a quarter of an inch and then the distance between the mounting holes on center, we're sitting at, right at two and a half inches center to center on those mounting holes. Now again, I mentioned that these are constructed of sturdy steel. They are made here in the USA.
