Hello Van,
Since you have a Moody trailer from the early to mid-1980s, and your dust cover measures about 2 inches wide, you’ll almost certainly need the 1.980-inch Bearing Buddy (model “1980A”) # BB1980A-SS for stainless, or # BB1980A for chrome plated. That’s the most common size used on light-duty trailers from that time period. The difference between 1.980" and 2.000" doesn’t sound like much, but it makes a big difference in how securely the Bearing Buddy fits in your hub.
The reason it’s usually 1.980" is that most people measure the outside of the dust cap and get around 2 inches, even though the actual hub bore (the part the cap presses into) is just under that at 1.98". There is a true 2.000" bore, but it’s pretty uncommon on older Moody or small boat trailers.
You could always check your outer bearing to confirm: Works with outer bearing models L-44643, L-44649 and L-44640
So what kind of fish are you fishing for? I was just in a bass tournament this last weekend, Fishing for Sight at the Lake of the Ozarks here in Missouri. We just couldn't get #5 in the box!

Hey Van, how did the 1.980-inch Bearing Buddy end up fitting on your Moody trailer? Knowing how the size worked out could really help others with older trailers figure out their best match.
