Question:

I have a pair of BB1980 currently on my boat trailer and need to change out the other pair. Is there a difference between the 1980A and the 1980? The two look like the same product, except the 1980 A has the blue greese level indicatoe in it. Thanks for your help.

The model 1980 Bearing Buddy simply means that they fit a 1.980 inch hub bore.

There is one difference of note between Bearing Buddy Bearing Protectors # BB1980A (Chrome Plated) or # BB1980A-SS (Stainless Steel) and the Bearing Buddy Bearing Protectors # BB1980T-SS which is that the latter - with the "T" in the part number - means that it is threaded and fits internally threaded hubs.

I have old farm trailer, it has one grease cap missing. Nobody here in safford,Airzona has one. The is threaded on the inside, its outside measurement is2.863 ,the inside is 2.688.

I'm really sorry but unfortunately we don't have any grease caps that match those specs. Is there by chance a part number stamped anywhere on the cap itself? That might at least lead you to where they can be found.

I am looking for a bearing buddy that the caliper says it is 2 inch, what do I need? Thanks

Most likely the Bearing Buddy # BB1980A or # BB1980A-SS (stainless steel) is what you need but it doesn't hurt to re-check your measurement a couple times. This model Bearing Buddy is designed for hub bore diameters of 1.98".
