Older bulbs fade fast and burn out, but this round LED clearance or side marker light gives you long-lasting brightness without the power drain. It uses just 0.045 amps at 12.8V while delivering a clear amber glow through its durable polycarbonate lens. The single LED diode is built with surface-mount technology for better heat distribution and vibration resistance, so it stays reliable for years with no fragile filaments or bulb changes needed.
Moisture is no match for this light’s construction. The housing and lens are sonically sealed into a single waterproof unit, keeping water out and protecting the internal circuit board. Whether it’s mounted low where road spray hits or used on a trailer that sees regular submersion, the sealed design keeps the light working dependably without corrosion or shorting issues.
When you want a solid fit that won’t shake loose, this light’s recessed mount and locking clip deliver. Installation requires only a 2-3/4" hole, and the built-in flange sits flush for a clean look. A foam gasket helps form a weathertight seal, while the locking clip secures the PL-10 plug connection to reduce vibration over rough roads. It’s a simple, snug setup built to last.

A P2-rated beam gives you 45 degrees of illumination to each side of center for a total of 90 degrees of coverage—ideal for use as either a clearance or side marker light. That focused spread helps other drivers see your trailer clearly from head-on angles, boosting visibility and safety at night or in low-light conditions.
No need to add extra parts—the built-in reflex reflector handles reflection duties without a separate piece to mount. The light accepts an industry-standard 2-prong PL-10 plug (sold separately), making wiring simple and compatible with common trailer setups. With its combined reflector, sealed body, and efficient LED power draw, it’s a compact, reliable solution for keeping your trailer well-lit and compliant.

Speaker 1: Today, we're taking a look at the Optronics Amber LED Clearance or Side Marker Light. This round trailer light serves as either a side marker light or a clearance light for your trailer. It features the built-in reflex reflector, which eliminates the need for a separate reflector and it also features durable surface mount technology when it comes to the construction of the LED circuit board. That design is designed really to better withstand shock and vibration and allow for improved heat distribution. The LEDs, overall they make great replacements for incandescent lights. They last longer, they burn brighter, they're much more efficient.
You don't have to worry about replacing bulbs or worry about brittle filaments with LEDs.This one has a really nice amber polycarbonate lens with a singular white LED. Completely sealed when it comes to the lens and the housing, so it's sonically sealed, features a waterproof housing and lens unit that is submersible. It's a recess mount installation with a built-in mounting flange. It also comes with a foam mounting gasket that creates a weather-tight seal. Your installation area does require a two and three quarter inch diameter hole for this to sit in and then you'll notice that we have three pre-drilled mount holes.
Mounting hardware not included. When it comes to the wiring, it's designed to accept an industry standard two-prong PL-10 plug. That is sold separately and available at etrailer.com. It has this really nice lock clip that creates a secure connection and helps reduce vibration.I'll show you how that functions here in a moment when we hook it up to our power source. This is SAE and Department of Transportation compliant.
It's a PT rated light. When it comes to the overall dimensions of the unit, I took a measurement from edge to edge, got an overall diameter of about three and three-eights to three and seven-16ths inches right in that area. Overall depth from very front to very back, including the clip was one and nine-16ths inches deep. Now, the overall depth once it's installed from the back of the flange right here to the front of the unit, it's only five-16ths of an inch deep, so it's a nice low profile unit. The mount holes are all separated along the center, apart from one another by two and five-eights inches. We're going to go and hook it up to power, that way you can see what it looks like with some power running to it.
We'll open up the clip. This is a PL-10 plug right here. Fits into the prongs here on the backside of the light. Then the clip comes over, snaps into place. That's that locking clip that we talked about. I'll go ahead and run our wires to where they need to go. We'll also be able to turn off our overhead lights so you can see it in a low light setting. You can see here it sends out a nice bright consistent signal. Again, this light contains one LED. When it comes to the power draw at 12.8 volts, it's 0.045 amps, and Optronics puts a lifetime warranty on the LED. That's going to do it for today's look at the Optronics Amber LED Clearance or Side Marker Light.

All rear Red marker lights on Motorhome replaced and brighter than ever! Very happy with this purchase!
Extremely satisfied with this product. Purchased as a lens replacement for a 90s camper with bargman 34-59-012 lights, and they snapped right into the old housing! Thanks etrailer!
Almost identical match to the Glo Brite clearance light that is no longer available.. Black wire is positive white is ground..
Hard to find parts available here. Quick shipping. Thank you!
Well to be perfectly honest they haven’t been installed yet. My helper was stung in the eyelid by a bee! He had to go to the hospital. I know this doesn’t say anything about the product, but it’s an interesting story. More importantly, these are just lights that I’m sure will work, but the guy on the phone that helped me order them was awesome!
Received the LED clearance light in great shape thanks.
The original is no longer available. This is a perfect replacement, using LEDs instead of an incandescent bulb. Note that the black wire is positive.
The led lights are of excellent quality, embedded to mounting base with epoxy. Strong and waterproof, service was fast and so was shipping.I am 100 % satisfied with this co. and the products they sell.
The light fixture is great, but it says black Base and it came with a white base not matching with my trailer’s right light!
I ordered a side marker light 6 diodes, the only thing that came in the package is a side marker light lens.
This was exact replacement for the side light on a mini bus
These led marker lights are super bright and easy to install.
Excellent product . I replaced all the red and amber clearance and side marking lights on my 1989 Holiday Rambler trave trailer with LED ones recommended by a etrailer representative and they look and work better than the original ones when the travel was new. I highly recommend etrailer.com for all your RV needs
I had one of these particular lights that didn’t work on our 2019 Rockwood travel trailer, and after checking the wiring, I discovered it was the light. The new light was ordered, and delivered quickly. I have installed it already and it works as it should.
Did not expect to find the EXACT marker light needed. Had to fish for awhile. Original lights are 24 years old. The light purchased was EXACTLY like the originals except LED. Will likely be ordering more to replace any other of the non functioning originals.
I had to change my marker lights to LED when I upgraded my tail / brake lights to LED. Easy to install and they emit bright light.
The experience was exactly like it should have been. I recieved the light in a timely manner and it was an exact diplicate of my broken one, except the new one wasn't broken. Installed the light and it works like it should!!!
Same as original light that came with my rollback. Quick shipping. Will definitely order again from etrailer.
Exact replacement for my camper. Easy to order. Shipping was fast. Easy to install. Top quality.
Though I didn't use them on a trailer, they've become the front turn signals on a Porsche 550 Spyder replica and they look great, they also didn't cost me $200, Thanks Guys!!
With several of the MCL31 clearance I had half or all of the LEDs stop working. I did not at the time realize they had a lifetime guarantee so I just threw them away. When A bunch of the LEDs in both BUL52CBs and about half of the turn/stop LEDs in the STL37RB went out, I contacted etrailer and they happily replaced them, but it took a couple of weeks and I had to pay the shipping. When I replaced all of my trailer lighting, I had thought that I would never have to worry about it again. LEDs should last forwver. That turns out to not be the case and it is a lot harder to change out hard wired LEDs than socketed incandescent bulbs. I wish I could find reliable long lasting LED trailer lighting.
Great replacement for my side mid-ship marker lights. My '08 Allegro Bay amber marker light cover had fell off due to the base of the original light base disintegrating from years of exposure. This MCLOO38ABB light fits the bill perfectly! Thanks etrailer for meeting the need!
I had to replace a side marker light on my 2015 trailer. I am the second owner and have had it for eight years. It came equipped with Optronics lighting all around, but one side marker had three of the six LED's out. So I replaced it with the same Optronics lamp. I have always had good results with Optronics and this is the first time I have seen a partial failure. No big deal. Replaced in kind and hopefully I won't have to worry about it again. They make good products and I would continue to purchase this brand.
Quick and easy!
